A drum building seminar with Peter at Wildheart-Center is much more than just building a drum. It is deep, delightful and very humorous. Peter makes the process feel quite effortless, although be prepared to concentrate on a different level. I experienced the sanding process as very meditative and at one point I thought: “who is sanding who?” In contrast working the hide required of me to focus to make sure that everything was just so. It was a teachable moment. Peter and Birgitte’s hospitality is very generous and thus the setting for the drum building is one of psychological safety. It is highly recommendable.

OMG there are so many tools I never knew existed! On Peters Basic Workshop I learned all about them and now I can even adjust the seat height of my bike.

I have been to a drum building seminar with Peter, and what a wonderful experience. Peter is a warm-hearted person and tells and shows the history and possibilities with the drum. It is not just a seminar where you build a random drum. A virtue is made out of getting the right items for each person. In addition, it was great that we got to inaugurate the drums together. Peter creates a calm and warm space for questions and reflection with respect for the crafting the drum.

We had an amazing time at Peter's drum building workshop. The slow and thoughtful process of choosing materials and building the drum was a spiritual journey as well as a teaching of a craft. Each individual intention for the workshop was met with respect and understanding and the weekend was filled with a lot of interesting conversations and insights in an amazing culture along with deeper understandings of ourselves through the process. All along there was a great respect for the traditions while at the same time room for humour and relaxation. Playing the drum in nature afterwards has brought us tremendous joy and a sense of freedom of expression - and we are truly grateful for the experience.

I felt dumb not even managing to hammer a nail in the wall or screwing a screw in. Peter was so nice and patient on his basic workshop, and I realised why things didn't worked before and that I am not dumb. Now I hang my pictures myself – and they get completely straight.

It was an unforgettable experience. We built up a relationship to a drum, not yet existent, and then we join its path to become real. The miracle of dream & life... hands on!
